Thank you to our volunteers

We are celebrating Volunteers’ Week (1-7 June) by saying ‘thank you’ to our amazing volunteers.

Volunteers play a big part in helping our residents keep connected. In normal times they help in practical ways too - as volunteer language and craft tutors, manicurists or even photographers.

During the pandemic a lot of the activities which mean so much to residents and volunteers had to be put on hold. Some volunteers were able to help in different ways – we’ve seen bingo sessions and chats over the phone, socially-distanced deliveries of essential shopping for those who couldn’t get out and about, dog walking and even a letter-writing project linking residents with secondary school pupils.

As we plan for the return of activities in our retirement living communities in the coming weeks, we’re looking forward to welcoming back our volunteers.

Many of our staff and customers volunteer too; giving up their time and doing all they can to help their neighbours.

In Volunteers’ Week we’re recognising those who supported our communities in difficult times and those who have been unable to volunteer as usual, during the pandemic.

Thank you for making a positive difference.
