Applying for a new job is a big decision. We believe that we are a great company to work for. But why not find out what some of the members of our team have to say?
Working in care and support is always satisfying. The advantage of working for Care Plus is that you can have a rewarding career, too. I began as a carer at Corsers Court and then applied for a care coordinator position there. I got a huge amount of training in that role and gained a broad overview of housing management as well as care services. That meant I had the confidence to embark on my current role where I am responsible for 10 members of staff and 90 residents.
I’ve had breaks in my career but I always come back to care. Some of my earliest memories are of helping my grandad and I really enjoy working with older people. I love my work and since I started at Care Plus I’ve been happier than ever.
I’ve got a young daughter and Care Plus have been as flexible as possible, so that my work fits round family life.
It’s great because you are helping people retain their independence and because I’m going into customers’ homes, I feel as though I’m playing a bigger part in their lives.
This is my first real job. I saw the care team at Cherry Tree Court and was really inspired by them. I knew then that I wanted to do something similar. The training has been really useful because it helped me get a better understanding of the job and gave me confidence. I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to shadow experienced carers, too, learning from them.
