Old School Court is a retirement living scheme which houses 25 properties, 23 one bedroom and 2 two bedroom. Wheaton Aston is a small picturesque village in Staffordshire, with a strong sense of community and was awarded the Best Kept Village 2024. There is currently one church and one chapel in the village, there has been a church on the current site in the village since the 14th Century. Located approx. 9 miles from Stafford and 7 miles from Cannock. Old School Court has good transport links to the large cities and is in close proximity to the M54, A449 and A5. Wheaton Aston is located beside Bridge 19 of the Shropshire Union Canal.
Local Amenities
There are several local amenities situated in the village. There are two public houses – The Coach & Horses, and The Hartley Arms, which is canal side. The village has two convenience stores, Spar and a Premier which are both well equipped. There is one church and one chapel. The local community centre has many events throughout the year, the Monday Club is a well attended club for older residents covering a range of activities, a very popular one is Monday lunch club. The local GP practice is situated in the heart of town and has also a second site at Brewood.
Scheme Facilities
Old School Court has it’s own hair salon which is run on a Wednesday. We have a laundry room which is run on a rota basis. The communal lounge is used for many activities throughout the year, but regular events are Coffee morning every Wednesday and Cameo which is run by the Salvation Army takes place once a month on a Tuesday. Security entry system and CCTV is on site. For any family members wishing to stay, we have a guest room which sleeps two, with en-suite and tea & coffee making facilities. Old School Court has ample car parking facilities situated at the front of the building.
